Ancient Suns

Rare and beautiful Mayan jadeite ear ornament. This type of piece would be worn on the front of the ear; there would be a “flare” that went through the hole in this piece, into the enlarged ear lobe perforation. Also, a bead or beads would then would have been put into the arrangement. This beautiful piece is crafted of fine, semi- translucent jadeite, with a high waxy polish. The color of green is deeper, a more olive color, than in the photo. Light shines through this piece when held up to the light. Excellent condition.
