Ancient Suns

This very rare decorated Mayan jadeite bead, was likely part of a longer tubular bead, at some point in its history. It was common practice for the Late Classic Mayans, or possibly later cultures, to come along and cut long tubular beads into slices or pieces such as this one. This very attractive bead is in excellent condition. It is sculpted from an attractive marbled sage green jadeite.
