Ancient Suns

Excellent pair of Mayan jadeite necklace beads, or “cuentas”. These beads were sourced in the Highland area of Guatemala, known as the Ixil Triangle, where these deeper green jadeite beads were favored. One of the beads is a more blue/green, and the other is the deepest olive green. Both bead were drilled from only one side, as can be seen in the photos. This is something that is occasionally seen in small to medium sized Mayan beads.

The beads each measure approximately 10.5mm in diameter
