Ancient Suns

For the Mayans, the value of Imperial Jadeite far exceeded the value of gold. This bead may be characterized as either very high quality “manzana”, apple jade, or Imperial jade. Jadeite of these colors, are found only running in narrow veins of jadeite of other colors, and beads of this color are usually very small. This is a large Imperial Jadeite “cuenta” or necklace bead. I have photographed it with a gold chain, because this bead deserves to be displayed in that way(please note that the chain is not included; it is for display only). It is absolutely stunning worn as a single bead. Excellent condition, with very little surface wear.
